L to R: Tracy Harding, Ewan Gadsden, Katherine Morris and Karen Murphy with boxes filled with gifts for the homeless
Two members of our staff have organised their second annual collection of charitable shoe boxes to donate to local homeless people
Following on from last year’s successful collection, Tracey Harding and Bridget Orr called on everyone they knew, from colleagues at work to local church St Andrew’s Shared Church in Cippenham, to childminders and slimming world clients, to fill as many shoe boxes as they could with items for the homeless. The boxes which contained hats, scarves gloves, confectionary and basic toiletries such as toothpaste, will be distributed by The Brett Foundation this Christmas.
In total Tracey and Bridget donated 60 boxes, 20 of which came directly from staff at Owen White.
Commenting on the donation Tracey said,
‘No one was safe this year, Bridget and I asked every single person we came across but it was worth it. It is great to think that 60 homeless people across our local area will have a little box of surprises this year and know that someone was thinking of them.’
