Owen White acted for London Square in connection with London Square Croydon, a major regeneration scheme in West Croydon. The £90 million redevelopment scheme will provide 240 new homes, a new public square, shops and cafes, creating a new destination for the area.
The development will form a major part of the West Croydon Masterplan and created a new gateway to Croydon town centre. 55% of the new homes will be affordable housing for local people. The affordable shared ownership apartments will be provided by Clarion Housing Group, working in partnership with London Square.
Owen White helped London Square put in place complex legal documentation involving the various land owners, Clarion and the London Borough of Croydon.
The project demonstrates the ability of London Square and its consultants to take on complex regeneration projects. Another major developer had previously tried to make the project work, without success.
Phil Lawrence of Owen White said:
“We were very pleased to be involved with this project. We are sure that it will be a great success and make a massive difference to the area. It is one of a number of high profile projects we are working on with London Square”.
Adam Lawrence, Chief Executive, London Square, said:
“We are delighted that the deal has now completed, revised planning is in place and work is now under way. The scheme will help to redefine the West Croydon area and the wider ambitions for the borough, delivering new homes, improving the area for the local community and helping to boost the local economy. We are delighted to be working with Clarion on our third joint project.”
